Recreation Grading

Our New Grading System

We are excited to introduce our new and improved grading system, designed to support clearer, more achievable progression for all students. Our updated structure aligns closely with our governing body, RGA, ensuring consistency, quality, and recognised skill development.

As part of this update, our previous colour-based system has been replaced with a simplified three-level grading structure within each class:

  • Bronze

  • Silver

  • Gold

Students will begin at Bronze, progress through Silver, and work towards Gold. Once a student achieves Gold, they will be invited to move into the next level class, ensuring progression is both earned and attainable.

 

Squad Class Grading

We have also introduced grading for our Squad classes. Squad athletes can now be formally assessed, giving families greater insight into the skills their child is currently working on and the areas they need to further develop. This allows for clearer goal setting and a better understanding of your child’s training progression.

How the Grading Session Runs

  • Children will be signed in at the front desk upon arrival.

  • When it is time for their assessment, children will be taken past the gate with a coach for a one-on-one grading session.

  • Warm-up will be minimal (if any) to ensure the coach has sufficient time to accurately assess all required skills.

  • The listed end time is a guide only. Some assessments may finish earlier, while higher grades may take longer to complete.

 

Results & Feedback

Grading results will be emailed within one week of the assessment. You will be notified whether your child is ready to move up to the next grade or if they need more time to develop certain skills.

Following their assessment, students will also receive a grading certificate outlining their results and next steps.

 

Cost & Payment Details

  • Cost per child: $15 per grading

  • All payments must be made at the time of booking

  • Payments are processed through the Parent Portal under Events

Please note: only the flat $15 grading fee can be credited if applicable. Any system surcharges are non-refundable.

How to Book

Bookings are made through the Parent Portal:

  1. Go to Find Events

  2. Select the grading date and time that best suits you

  3. Each timeslot is one-on-one, allowing the coach to focus solely on your child

Once sessions are fully booked, no additional bookings can be taken, and an alternative timeslot will need to be selected.

Cancellations & No-Shows

  • Grading sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable

  • If you contact us in writing at least 48 hours prior, we can move the booking to another day or place a $15 credit on your account

  • Cancellations made within 48 hours cannot be refunded or credited
